KATHMANDU: Central Working Committee member of the Nepali Congress Sujata Koirala has announced that she will file her candidacy for the post of president in the upcoming 14th General Convention of the party.
Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport this morning, leader Koirala announced her candidacy for the post of president, recalling late NC leader Girija Prasad Koirala who used to announce crucial political decisions here in Biratnagar.
“I am hopeful that I, as a woman, will get support and cooperation from all the party rank and file. We will discuss it in the Koirala family, too,” said Koirala.
General Secretary Dr. Shashanka Koirala and CWC member Dr Shekhar Koirala have, too, announced their candidacies for the post of president.
She further said that the country will go for early elections since Nepali Congress also is also in favor of it. Sher revealed that the incumbent ruling coalition will last until the elections.
