Nepal-India friendly bus service resumes

RANJHA: The Nepal-India friendly bus service that has been affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic has resumed after two years.

Nepalgunj-based Bheri Transport Pvt Ltd has been operating the Nepal-India passenger friendly transport service from Nepalgunj to Indian capital Delhi, Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow, Dehradun and Haridwar.

Chairperson of Bheri Transport Pvt Ltd Rajendra Giri said the Nepal-India passenger friendly bus service has been re-operated from Sunday with the permission for cross-border vehicular operation following the reduced risk of coronavirus.

The shutdown of bus services had incurred a big financial loss to the bus entrepreneurs. The resumption of bus service has eased Nepali passengers to travel to and from Indian cities, including Delhi, Dehradun and Haridwar.

According to him, the bus from Nepalgunj to Delhi leaves at 5.00 pm while Nepalgunj-bound bus from Delhi departs at 5.00 pm. The buses for Deharadun and Haridwar leave at 8.00 pm from Nepalgunj, Giri informed.
