Minister Karki inspects flood-hit areas in Sunsari



INARUWA: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki  has inspected the flood-hit areas in Sunsari district.

Minister Karki on Sunday oversaw various places in the district that were affected by rain-triggered flood such as Baraha Livestock Farm at Barahachettra Municipality-4, Farm run by Bharat Karki at Ramdhuni-8 and flood-hit places at Harinagar Rural Municipality-2, 5, 6 and 7.
He also took stock of the situation and asked the affected locals about the extent of losses incurred by the flood.

The Minister also inspected the house of Bishnu Sharma at Inaruwa-9 that was burnt down by an irate mob following the suicide of Hakim Miya of Bhokraha Narsingh Rural Municipality- 5 while he was in police custody. The incident took place some days ago.

Minister Karki instructed the local administration to ensure safety for Sharma and his family who had pleaded with the visiting Minister to enable environment where they could safely stay in their own house in the wake of their house set ablaze.
