KATHMANDU: Nepal is taking on host team Maldives in a football tournament under the SAFF Championship 2021 today.

The match will be held at the capital city Male at 9:45 pm.  Defending champion Maldives had defeated Nepal by 3-0 in the semi-final in the SAFF Championship held in 2018.

It had clinched the trophy by thrashing India by 2-1 in the final for the second time. Nepal has not defeated Maldives so far.

Talking to journalists during a pre-match fresh conference on Thursday Nepali team’s captain Kiran Chemjong said Maldives being a host has support from Maldivians but it will not affect the performance of the Nepali team.
