14th Gen Convention fever grips NC; ward convention from Sept 3 itself

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) is all set to begin the 14th General Convention of the party by holding the ward convention on September 3.

The NC is initiating the formal process of the mega event by holding the lowest level convention of the party on Friday.

The Central Working Committee (CWC) of the party has said the NC has geared up for the general convention free of hassles and doubt.

Election Committee Coordinator Mahadev Yadav has said that the process of general convention will move ahead on the stipulated date, free of hassles.

The party has already sorted the disputes of 56 districts and deployed election officers to 53 districts.

NC will hold its district convention on September 26, province convention on October 27-29, and national convention on November 25-29.

The convention at the local level has been scheduled for September 12 and province assembly constituency-level convention on September 17 and the House of Representatives constituency-level convention of the NC is slated for September 21.

Top leaders of the party have agreed on schedule, active membership and election guidelines in regard to the upcoming 14th national convention.

NC President Deuba and senior leader Poudel have also agreed to organize the party’s ward-level convention on the same day (September 3) in all 6,743 wards across the country.
