UML calls Central Committee meet on August 8



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has decided to hold its Central Committee (CC) meeting on August 8.

A Standing Committee (SC) meeting held at Tulsilal Memorial Foundation in Chyasal, Lalitpur, Sunday, decided to this effect, said UML General Secretary Ishwor Pokharel. The CC meeting has been called for discussion on legislative assembly slated for September 12 to 13.

The SC meeting also directed district committees’ to finish task of renewal and updating party memberships by August 7.

Likewise, the SC directed to timely hold ward level conventions on September 19 and local level conventions on September 25.

Leader Pokharel said efforts for party unity was on and clarified there was no provision for two chairpersons in the UML legislation.

The Standing Committee will again meet at 3 pm on Monday.
