KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has demanded a written reply from the defendants of the writ petition filed by dismissed Lumbini Province lawmakers Dadhi Ram Neupane and Dinesh Panthi.
CPN-Maoist Center had taken action against province lawmakers duo Neupane and Panthi elected for defecting the party and joining CPN-UML.
However, the lawmakers lodged their petition claiming they have not left the party. They have made CPN-Maoist Center, Election Commission, Lumbini Province Assembly Secretariat.
A single bench of Justice Ananda Mohan Bhattarai sought a written reply from the opposition on Sunday.
However, SC refused to issue an immediate interim order as sought by the petitioners.
SC Spokesperson Baburam Dahal informed that the two sides have been called for discussion on August 24 to decide on interim order.
After the revival of the CPN-UML and the CPN-Maoist Center, the Maoist Center expelled them saying that Neupane and the party still remained in the CPN-UML.
