PM Deuba likely to expand cabinet Monday



KATHMANDU: If everything goes according to the plan, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is likely to expand the cabinet on Monday.

PM Deuba and CPN-Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” have agreed to expand the cabinet by Monday, sources have said.

The two leaders have also agreed to include the faction led by CPN-UML senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal in the cabinet. However, leader Nepal has yet to give his consent, according to the source.

While the Nepali Congress will have eight ministers in the cabinet, the Maoist Center and the Janata Samajbadi Party will have seven ministers each.

Meanwhile, the three remaining posts will be either given to the UML senior leader Nepal faction of will be filled with independent ministers.
