Heavy rain occurring in various parts including Valley; people urged to take precaution

KATHMANDU: Heavy rain is occurring in various parts of the country including the Kathmandu Valley since early morning today.

With the monsoon getting active, the rain is occurring in most parts of the country, said Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD).

According to a rain gauge center based at Marinkhola Kusuntar, Sindhuli, heavy rain is occurring in the surrounding areas since the last six hours.

The water level is surging in areas including Marin Kusuntar, Bagmati Raigaun, Pandheradobhan, according to the Division.

The Division, in a notice, has urged the people to take precautions warning of inundation and floods today afternoon.

Similarly, the heavy rain has been gauged in the last three hours by Bimalnagar rain gauge center in Tanahun today.

A warning has been issued by the Division stating that the floods might occur in the rivers including Chudikhola flowing through this region.

Likewise, Kalaiya rain gauge center, Bara has also reported a heavy rain occurring since the last three hours.

The rain is occurring in Pradesh 1, 2, Bagmati and Gandaki Pradesh since last night. It will continue in some places of these provinces until Saturday, according to the Division.

Meanwhile, the Division has warned people living on the river banks to take precautions saying that the floods might occur in the rivers including Pasaha and Feta.
