NC leader Koirala raps PM Oli for belittling legal practitioners



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) leader Dr Shekhar Koirala has hit out at Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for humiliating legal practioners describing his behaviouir as an outcome of defeated mindset.

Speaking at a virtural program organized by Youth Association Nepal (YAN), Prime Minister Oli belittled legal practitioners accusing them of  leading the court in the wrong direction.

Coming down heavily on Prime  Minister Oli for his comment, leader Koirala described it as a mockery of the role played by legal practioners during the democratic movement.

“The humiliating comment made by Prime Minister Oli on legal practitionser is not only a mockery of the roles played by them during the democratic movement but also the democratic republic,” said Koirala,  adding, “It is an outcome of defeated mentality and the desire to become a dictator,” Koirala twitted.

Koirala has said that  when all the democratic forces including legal practioners were waging a war fore republic Oli had no trust the republic would be established.

Koirala has stated that the court can play a significant role to abolish autocracy referring to the history when the then Supreme Court  had scrapped the Shahi Commission.
