KATHMANDU: A one month has elapsed by since the prohibitory order was imposed in the Kathmandu Valley to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic.
Government officials have said the preparations are underway to extend the order until June 14, depending upon the situations.
With the second wave of COVID-19 taking a toll, Chief District Officers (CDOs) of Kathmadu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur had jointly imposed the order since April 29 in the Kathmandu Valley.
As many as 33,000 vehicles and 1,800 people have faced action during the period.
According to Metropolitan Police Office, Ranipokhari, around 5,000 security personnel have been mobilized to implement the prohibitory order.
CDO of Kathmandu Kali Prasad Parajuli said the probitory order was made further stricter for the fourth time after the COVID-19 cases did not subside.
The order will be extended depending upon the situation, Parajuli said.
