Practical issues to help implement social security schemes: FNCCI President

KATHMANDU: President of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Shekhar Golchha has said that many things are left to do to ensure sustainable and reliable labour relations in the country. He, however, said that the issues of labor relations were improving.

Addressing a program organized by Joint Trade Union Coordination Committee (JTUCC) on the occasion of the 132nd International May Day on Saturday, Golchha stressed the need for prioritizing the issues of investment promotion, employment creation, entrepreneurship development and labor relations improvement.

Golchha was of the opinion that the second wave of COVID-19 has added worries on the private sector at a time when a grimmer of hope was raised to get liberated from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He said, “We have urged to continue with the economic activities by being sensitive to health issues. There is no option but to continue our works by reducing the health risks.”

Likewise, FNCCI Vice-President Ram Chandra Sanghai called for dealing with the crisis in the present situation created by the pandemic. He argued that all should cooperate and work in coordination to reduce the impacts of the factory closure on workers. RSS
