20 arrested in drug-related incidents, including two Indian nationals at TIA



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested 20 individuals in a series of drug-related incidents across the country, including two Indian nationals detained at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

The two Indian nationals were apprehended last night upon arrival from Bangkok on a Nepal Airlines flight, with 3.160 grams of a cannabis-like substance in their possession.

In a separate operation, one individual was arrested with brown sugar from Nagdhunga in Chandragiri Municipality-2, according to the Central Police newsroom.

Other arrests were made from multiple locations. In Kanchanpur, one person was detained from Belauri Municipality-6, three from Sadakghat in Pipalchautra, two from Ward No. 8, and one from Bhimdatta Municipality-11.

Similarly, two individuals were arrested with brown sugar from Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-7 in Bardiya, two from Baiyabehadi in Dhangadhi Metropolitan City-2, and three from Trinagar.

Further, two individuals were detained from Lumbini Sanskritik Municipality-6 in Rupandehi, while one person was arrested from Baglung Bus Park in Pokhara Metropolitan City-2.

Police said investigations into the incidents are ongoing.
