Indian variant of COVID-19 detected in China

KATHMANDU:  An Indian variant of COVID-19 has been detected in China.

A high alert has been maintained after a person was found infected with the virus B1617 which was first detected in India, according to Chinese authorities.

The new variant B1617 of the pandemic has swamped across India leaving the scientists dumfounded how this virus happed to be so infectious and fatal.

Chief of Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Yu Wang has confirmed the infection of the new variant of the COVID-19, without divulging the number of people infected with the new variant.

According to Yu, the COVID-19 which underwent mutation in India has been detected in some cities. But he has disclosed the number of cities where the Indian variant was found.
