Prohibitory orders imposed in 27 districts to curb COVID-19 (with list)

KATHMANDU: With chief district officers (CDOs) being empowered to impose prohibitory orders considering infection cases in the respective district, the orders have been implemented in various districts.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, the prohibitory orders have been issued in as many as 27 districts. Of them, the orders have been imposed in 24 districts, currently, while the orders will come into force in the remaining three districts starting Sunday.

Partial and full prohibitory orders have been imposed in various districts depending upon the status of the COVID-19 infection cases.

Of the districts where the prohibitory order is imposed, the order has been imposed effective from today and it will come into force in three districts from Sunday.

The cabinet had empowered CDOs to impose prohibitory orders in the Kathmandu Valley and districts in the Terai region with 500 COVID-19 cases and hilly and mountainous districts with 200 cases.

In line with the same power, the prohibitory orders have been imposed in Banke, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Kailali, Parsa, Kanchanpur, Dang, Palpa, Chitwan, Rupandehi, Salyan and Sunsari districts.

Partial orders have been imposed in Kalikot, Baglung, Bardiya and Darchula. Similarly, the order is coming into force in Jajarkot from tonight.

Likewise, the prohibitory orders will come into force in Salyan, Dadeldhula and Jhapa from Sunday, informed the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Of the districts where the prohibitory orders have been implemented, an odd-even rule has been imposed in Kaski, Sunsari and Jhapa districts.

Meanwhile, Janakraj Dahal, the spokesperson at the Ministry of Home Affairs, has urged the people in general to fully comply with the orders issued by the ministry for the prevention and control of the second wave of COVID-19.
