President’s message on May Day



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has offered her best wishes of happiness, peace and prosperity to all working sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of the International Workers’ Day that falls on May 1 every year.

The President, in a message of greetings, on the occasion of May Day appreciated and thanked working people who do their work for the prosperity and progress of the country being on the forefront to fight against COVID-19. She expressed her hope that this Day may help unite all workers for their rights.

She drew the attention of the concerned authority to make arrangements for workers who have lost their jobs due to the infection, for their livelihood. For economic prosperity of the country, there is a need to build a self-reliant and self-sufficient economy by increasing domestic production through entrepreneurship, she said.

She expressed her confidence that country’s goals of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepalis’ would be fulfilled by eradicating poverty and ensuring social security to the people.

She urged one and all to abide by the prohibitory order imposed by the government to control coronavirus and follow the health protocol to be safe from the deadly virus.
