NC welcomes Melamchi water by remembering late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai



KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has welcomed the Melamchi water project by paying tribute to its late leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai who first envisioned bringing the water of Melamchi to Kathmandu to solve water crisis in the valley.

The NC has said the dream of late Bhattarai was finally achieved. It also congratulated people in the valley.

Issuing a press release on Thursday, the NC said, “The Melamchi water project, which was stated by NC-led government, has materialized overcoming numerous hurdles. Though the project duration was extended by over two decades, the completion of the project has elated residents of the valley.”

The NC also attributed the success of the project to Melamchi locals, competent engineers, foreign donors who contributed financial and infrastructural support, government employees and laborers, among others.
