JSP leaders Yadav and Bhattarai discuss new power-sharing with Deuba

KATHMANDU: Main opposition parties have expedited meetings for a new power-sharing, of late.

Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav and the party’s Federal Council Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai met with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at the latter’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Wednesday evening.

In a one-hour-long meeting, the JSP leaders Yadav and Bhattarai urged Deuba to take the initiative to form a new government under his leadership, said an NC source.

In reply, Deuba told them that he would answer their request after holding discussions in the party.

Earlier on Tuesday, CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal had also met with NC President Deuba and urged him to form a new government under his leadership.

In the meantime, Maoist Center has called a Standing Committee meeting on Thursday morning.

The SC meeting convened this morning will dwell on the withdrawal of the party’s support to the Oli-led government, according to Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the spokesperson of the party.
