Journalism should always be towards democracy and constitution: Bhattarai

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction standing committee member Yogesh Bhattarai has asserted that the journalism should “always” be on the side of the democracy and constitution.

Addressing the second provincial assembly of the NCP close Press Organization Nepal in Hetauda today, Bhattarai, also former Minister for Culture, Tourism and Aviation, viewed that the state-owned media should also play a critical role.

At the programme, Bagmati Provincial Assembly members Munu Sigdel and Om Glan argued that the journalists should be free completely and be responsible towards the State.

Press Organization Nepal’s Deputy In-charge Om Sharma and Deputy Coordinator Bishnu Rijal pointed out the need for completely free press. RSS
