Four Indian nationals arrested from manpower agency in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Department of Foreign Employment has raided the Triple Star Employment Company based in Tokha and arrested four Indian nationals.

Among the arrested are three women and a man.

The department conducted the raid on Monday on the basis of information that a manpower agency named Ganapati was conducting interviews for ‘sending people to Canada’.

Ganapati, a manpower company run by Indian citizens, had collaborated with Triple Star after it was not registered in Nepal.

According to the department, after receiving information that the gang from India was active in Nepal, the search revealed that the Indians had collaborated with the Nepali manpower agency.

The department raided the place after receiving information that four people from India were illegally collecting Rs 5,000 each in the name of Ganapati Happy Life Pvt.

Two laptops and various documents were also seized during the raid.

The Indian nationals said they were employees and did not have any identity card with them.

According to the department, further investigation is underway.
