Minister Poudel stresses on providing land to landless squatters



KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Bishnu Poudel has directed concerned authorities to intensify the bid to distribute land to landless squatters, dalit and other marginalized communities with no land ownership certificate.

In an interaction at the Ministry with the officials of Land Related Problem Resolution Commission here today, Minister Poudel said that providing land to landless squatters was a prime task of the government.

Similarly, commission chair Devi Gyawali shared that the commission was working in full phase to manage the land to the needy people in collaboration with local levels.

According to the commission, it has forged an agreement with 401 local levels of 74 districts to manage land to the needy one meeting the criteria so far.
