Prachanda-Nepal faction to visit EC to claim party’s authenticity



KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has decided to visit the Election Commission (EC) to claim the official status of NCP.

The Central Committee meeting of the faction held on Monday decided of going to the commission claiming that its own party is the official one.

“The Commission had written us to reshuffle and update the office bearers as per the party constitution,” spokesperson of the faction Narayankaji Shrestha told media about the decisions made by the Central Committee and Standing Committee of the party, “As we are the official ones, we have decided to go to the commission to claim
authenticity.”

However, he did not disclose the date they would go to the Election Commission.

Spokesperson Shrestha added that the party condemned the incident against the democratic system in Myanmar and clarified that the party is always for the democratic system in Myanmar.

Leader Shrestha informed that two-thirds of the central committee members of the party had attended Monday’s meeting.
