India’s grant to Nepal increased by Rs three billion



KATHMANDU: India has increased financial assistance to Nepal for the coming year by Rs three billion while compared to the last year.

In the 2021/22 budget presented to the Lok Sabha by Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday, the grant to Nepal has been increased by about two billion Indian rupees.

The budget has allocated 9.92 billion Indian rupees (Rs. 15.87 billion) for the grant to be given to Nepal for the coming year.

In last year’s budget, India had allocated eight billion Indian rupees, Rs 12.80 billion for Nepal.

This budget will be implemented from April 2021. India has introduced a paperless budget for the first time that has given high priority to the health sector.
