Conspiracy is being hatched to freeze ‘sun’ election symbol: Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that a conspiracy is being hatched to deny official status to both groups and freeze the ‘sun’ election symbol.

During a Central Committee meeting of his faction held at Karki Banquet in the capital on Monday, Chairman Nepal expressed suspicion that a conspiracy was being hatched against the election symbol.

Both NCP factions have been laying claims for official recognition for the party’s name and the election symbol.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the decision taken by the Election Commission, Nepal said that the group led by Prime Minister KP Oli doesn’t even have one-fourth of central members and objected to the decision of the Election Commission not to give them official status.
