Contempt of court case filed against Prachanda

KATHMANDU: A case of contempt of court has been registered against Nepal Communist Party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” on Monday.

Advocate Samir Hayu registered the case. The case is set to be heard on Tuesday.

The case has been registered in the Supreme Court against Prachanda’s statement in the Biratnagar assembly.

Prachanda had said that he had maintained patience because of the issue at the apex court.

“We have been patient with the belief that the Supreme Court will act in accordance with the spirit and letter of the constitution, in accordance with the spirit and spirit of democracy, and in accordance with the sentiments and needs of the people of this country,” Prachanda had told the mass in Biratnagar.

The petitioner claims that Prachanda has repeatedly made threatening remarks targeting the court and the justices.

Earlier, a contempt case was registered against Prime Minister KP Oli and former chief justices.
