People coming from countries with variant virus must stay in mandatory quarantine



KATHMANDU: Citizens coming to Nepal from a country with a new ‘variant’ virus have to stay in hotel quarantine at their own expense.

Citizens of any country with a ‘variant’ virus or transit country with the virus will have to stay in quarantine at the hotel listed by the Government of Nepal.

All citizens arriving by air must have a negative report of testing COVID-19 in a laboratory approved by the country concerned within 72 hours of the swab being collected.

Before arriving in Nepal, the passenger must inform the Nepalis diplomatic mission regarding the date of travel and details of the flight.

Once the diplomatic mission receives the information, it must inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will inform the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Health and the CCMC. The person will have to bear all the expenses of staying in the hotel quarantine.

Passengers who do not test the COVID-19 will have to stay in the hotel for 10 days.
