Bird flu: Health Ministry appeals people to stay alert



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has issued a statement on Sunday saying that bird flu, which affects the birds and is likely to affect human health.

Bird flu has been confirmed in Tarakeshwar Municipality of Kathmandu.

According to the Ministry, the bird flu has been confirmed in turkeys and ducks reared by the local farmers of Tarakeshwar-7, Futung and Sanglekhola.

Epidemiology and Disease Control Division has appealed the public to inform it provided any suspicious deaths of the birds in the locality.

The authority has also asked everyone to behave carefully with the people suffering from common cold in that area.
