Gandaki CM Gurung mulls sacking two ministers

POKHARA: Gandaki Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung is preparing to dismiss two ministers from his cabinet.

Gurung is preparing to sack Minister for Internal Affairs and Law, Hari Bahadur Chuman, and Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives Lekh Bahadur Thapa Magar.

Chuman and Thapa represent the Prachanda-Nepal faction in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP). CM Gurung is under immense pressure to sack them after they joined the camp and are openly expressing disagreement with PM KP Oli faction.

After the dissolution of the House of Representatives on December 20, 27 parliamentarians have joined the Oli camp.

NCP Gandaki Province Deputy In-Charge Yashoda Subedi representing Prachanda-Nepal faction said that there are 13 lawmakers close to the faction.

The Nepali Congress has 15 members in the provincial assembly, the Rastriya Janamorcha has three and the Janata Samajwadi Party has two members.
