Some 300 US nationals evacuated from Nepal



KATHMANDU: The USA has evacuated some 300 citizens from Nepal.

A chartered flight of a Qatar Airways that had landed in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at around 10 am took off on Tuesday afternoon. They will reach the USA after a stopover at Doha, Qatar.

The Embassy had earlier said that it was coordinating with the Department of State to procure two charter flights that will likely take passengers as far as Dulles airport near Washington, DC.

The Embassy plans another evacuation flight for Thursday.
