Deuba urges govt to rescue Nepalis from Wuhan



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President and former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has asked the government to rescue the Nepali students living in Wuhan city of China.

Deuba has also made an appeal to one and all to remain alert against the infection of the novel coronavirus.

Issuing a press statement on Friday, Deuba has expressed deep sorrow to the demise of Chinese nationals who lost their lives from coronavirus and expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the Government of China on behalf of the Nepali Congress.

It is unfortunate and condemnable that the government has not shown its seriousness to bring some 100 students from Wuhan city, Deuba said.

The government also should ensure camp to keep those rescued students in isolation for a certain period until the health report is released, the former PM asked.

The former prime minister has also praised the effective measures taken by the Chinese government to contain the corona virus outbreak.

Likewise, Deuba has said that massive information dissemination was needed to the general public from the government side regarding the risk and precautions of the corona virus infection.
