KATHMANDU: Rajasthan Royals has defeated Kings XI Punjab by seven wickets in an Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Held at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday night, Rajasthan reached the target of 186 runs set by Kings XI Punjab in 17.3 overs losing three wickets.
Rajasthan’s BA Stokes secured a half century including six fours and three sixes off 26 balls while SV Samson and SPD Smith made 48 and 31 runs, respectively.
Punjab’s M Ashwin and CJ Jordan grabbed one wicket each of Rajastahn.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Punjab had notched up 185 runs losing four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Punjab’s CH Gayle top-scored with 99 runs while Cricketer KL Rahul and N Pooran collected 46 and 22 runs, respectively.
Rajasthan’s JC Archer and BA Stokes took two wickets each of Punjab.
With this win, both Rajasthan and Punjab have 12 points each from equal 13 games.
