How Teku Hospital’s health workers manage to be away from COVID-19 infection

KATHMANDU: Heath workers engaged in treating COVID-19 patients are at the highest risk of infection.

More than 500 health workers have been infected across the country. Among them, there are more infections in outside the Kathmandu Valley.

The first treatment of corona infection in Nepal has started since last February. It has been seven months that the first treatment of Coronavirus infected at the Shukraraj Tropical and Infectious Diseases Hospital, Teku was carried out.

However, not a single health worker at Teku Hospital has been infected so far.

At one time, more than a thousand people lined up at Teku Hospital every day to get tested for the coronavirus.

Doctors and nurses working at the Teku Hospital said that there was no risk of infection due to the safe testing and treatment of so many people from outside the district.

All patients admitted to Teku Hospital are screened and there is no shortage of PPE. However, private hospitals that charge high fees for patients are at risk of coronavirus.
