Janakpur High Court Justice tests COVID-19 positive

High Court adjourned till August 15



JANAKPURDHAM: A 50-year-old judge of Janakpur High Court has tested positive for coronavirus on Friday.

According to Prem Prasad Bhattarai, the Chief District Officer of Dhanusha, the report of the swab test of the judge collected on Tuesday had come out positive.

Prior to this, a judge of Rajbiraj Bench of Janakpur High Court, too, had tested coronavirus positive.

Citing the widespread of the pandemic in the district, the court has decided to postpone all activities July 31 to August 15.

“Owing to the fast spreading coronavirus and latest cases of transmission amid the judges and as the medics have been warning that the pandemic is likely to spread much faster, the meeting with held between Janakpur High Court, Dhanusha District Court, Office of the District Attorney and Nepal Bar Association has decided to postpone all court activities but for the ones in operation during lockdown period,” a notice issued by the Janakpur High Court reads.
