Nepal’s coronavirus death count reaches 54 after two die in Birgunj



KATHMANDU:  Two more people have died from coronavirus in Birgunj, taking the COVID-19 death tally to 54 in Nepal.

According to Dr Madan Upadhyaya, the medical superintendent at Narayani Hospital, two men aged 35 and 65 died on Thursday  evening.

It is, however, yet to be announced officially by the Ministry of Health and Population.
The deceased are from Nagawa and Chapkaiya of Birgunj Sub metropolitan City.

“They were confirmed to have died from the coronavirus after their swab test results came out positive posthumously,” said Upadhyaya, adding, “35-year-old man died in the course of treatment at Gandak Coronavirus Hospital while 65-year-old died in his own house.”

With this the number of deaths from coronavirus has reached nine in Parsa district alone.
