Two-year-old girl, who died at an isolation ward in Bajura, tests positive for coronavirus

BAJURA: The two-year-old girl, who died at an isolation ward of Bajura District Hospital this morning has tested positive.

With this, the number of people dying from COVID-19 in Nepal has reached 8.

According to Social Development Minister of Far West, Krishna Raj Subedi, the girl tested positive for coronavirus.

The baby’s mother has also tested positive, he said.

Dr Guna Raj Awasthi, Director of the Far West Health Directorate, said her father, however, tested negative.

The two-year-old girl originally from Budhiganga municipality 1 had arrived from Delhi a week back.

She had showed symptoms such as fever, respiratory problems and diarrhea.

Deaths so far:

A 29-year-old woman from Ramche in Bahrabise municipality of Sindhupalchowk district was the first to die of coronavirus in the country on May 14.

Likewise, the second death was a 25-year old man who died in a quarantine in Banke on May 17.

Similarly, a 70-year-old man died at National Medical College in Birgunj on May 17 to become the third patient to die from COVID-19.

Likewise, the fourth death was a 41-year-old man from Madane rural municipality of Gulmi died at Crimson Hospital on May 21.

Similarly, a man died in India while returning to Nepal on May 23. He was the fifth person to die.

A man from Bungmati, Lalitpur died on May 27 to become the sixth person to die form COVID-19.

Likewise, the seventh was a 35-year-old male from Dullu of Dailekh who died in the quarantine facility.
