25 % concession on Internet and electricity bill

KATHMANDU: The government has directed the telecommunication service providers to offer 25 percent concession to the customers of Internet and voice services during the lockdown.

Talking to journalists after the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Sunday, Minister for Finance Yuba Raj Khatiwada said both the government and private internet service providers should provide concession.

Announcing a relief package on Sunday, the government directed the telecommunication service providers including the private companies to offer up to 25 percent concession on data and data packages.

Similarly, the government decided to waive electricity bill of the Nepali months Falgun and Chaitra by 25 percent to the customers up to 150 units of electricity.

Meanwhile, the government has urged Nepal Food Corporation to provide 10 percent concession on the grocery items and landlords to waive a one-month rent to the daily wage earners.
