Prachanda-Nepal faction writes to banks asking them to block party’s accounts

KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Madhav Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has written to all concerned banks to block all accounts that have been opened in the party’s name.

The faction led by Prachanda-Nepal wrote to the banks to block the accounts after the ruling NCP underwent a vertical split due to heightened tensions after the dissolution of the House of Representatives last week.

Party Standing Committee member Surendra Pandey said that the decision to block the account was taken at a meeting of the party’s standing committee.

“We have asked the banks to block the accounts opened in the banks in the name of NCP or the erstwhile CPN-UML,” he said.
