Finance Minister Poudel assures enough budget for health infrastructures



LALITPUR: Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel has laid the foundation stone for a 15-bed basic hospital at Chapagaun of Godavari municipality in Lalitpur district on Monday.

The federal government has allocated Rs 180 million budget for the same.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Poudel said, “Let’s guarantee the people’s right to live by constructing the hospital before the deadline. The government will not allow budget crunch for hospital construction.”

Saying the foundation stone of such type of hospital has been laid at around 300 local levels today based on the government’s plan to build basic hospitals in 396 local levels of the country at the same time, he shared that the federal government has allocated Rs 57.95 billion budget for the same.

Minister Poudel further said that Rs 80 million each has already been allocated to construct a 50-bed hospital in seven provinces.

The Finance Minister opined that the government would lay emphasis on creating employment for the jobless people and economic advancement programs in view of the adverse impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the development of the country.
