Disabled people discriminated against in health sector: NFDN

KATHMANDU: People with disabilities have been affected the most due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, said the National Federation of the Disabled Nepal (NFDN).

Protesting that differently-abled people have been discriminated in the sector of health and education, thus making it difficult for them to make a living, the NFDN President Mitra Lal Sharma accused the government and society of not being serious about the matter.

Sharma was addressing a discussion program held here today on the eve of the 29th International Day of Persons with Disabilities.

On the occasion, Executive Director of the Nepal Disabled Human Rights Centre Jagadish Prasad Adhikari stressed the need for providing access for people with disabilities to online education.

The theme for the Day to be organized on December 3 is ‘Ensuring Best Revival Post COVID-19: Our Collective Commitment for Access and Sustainable Development for Persons with Disabilities’. RSS
