Resources mobilized for upgrading hospitals in 13 districts in Bagmati Province



KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Dormani Poudel today has said that the Provincial Government has mobilized resources for upgrading hospitals in remote areas of all 13 districts in the province to provide quality health service.

The government has a policy to establish teaching hospital for the production of educated and qualified workforce in education and health, he said while inaugurating the intensive care unit and high dependency unit set up for Hetauda Hospital by the Madan Bhandari Academy of Health Sciences amid a function here.

ICUs at the district hospital in Bhaktapur, Nuwakot and Sindhuli have come into operation from today, and the foundation stone for the construction and upgrading of 51 hospitals in 13 districts would be laid today, he said.

For this purpose, the Federal Government has released Rs 58 billion grants.

The Academy would establish a 300-bed teaching hospital in Hetauda, the capital of the province, in some days and Rs 450 million has been allocated for this, he said.
