COVID-19-infected cricketer Lamichhane hospitalized



KATHMANDU: Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane who tested positive for coronavirus has been hospitalized.

Lamichhane has been admitted to HAMS hospital after he complained of respiratory complications.

Posting a messag on social media on Friday,  Lamichhane informed that he had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

He had been suffering from body aches since last Wednesday. He was in home isolation after his report of PCR test came out positive on Friday.

The Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) has been organizing the closed session  training since Wednesday. Lamichhane was attending a closed session training of the national cricket players before leaving for Australia.

CAN had conducted PCR tests on all the partcipants on Tuesday itself. As many as 22 players are partaking in the training organized by Cricket Association Nepal (CAN).

Nepali leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has signed a contract with Hobart Hurricanes to take part in Big Bash cricket tournament to be held in Australia.

Hurricanes hired Lamichhane following the expiry of his contract with Melbourne.

Lamichhane, who made a debut in Big Bash League in 2018, has already performed twice in the Australian match through Melbourne Stars.

He had claimed 26 wickets in an average of 19.80 in 20 games.
