Humla community forests catch fire



HUMLA: A massive wildfire occurred in Chela and Singhmachhiyu community forests at Simkot Rural Municipality-4 in Humla district on Thursday afternoon.

The local residents said that the fire that broke out in Chela forest at 12:00 noon also caught Baldejuda area in Singhmachhiyu. The fire was contained on Thursday evening by police personnel and local residents.

With the beginning of dry season, the cases of wildfire have started to begin in Humla.

Chairman of Simkot Rural Municipality-4 Chhabichandra Lama said that thousands of plants and a number of wild animals and plants were destroyed in the fire. RSS
