CoAS Thapa tests negative for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa has tested negative for COVID-19.

Thapa had taken to self-quarantine, a precautionary measure to prevent the coronavirus pandemic transmission to others on September 27.

COAS Thapa had self-quarantined himself after one of his cooks tested coronavirus positive.

According to Santosh Ballav Poudel, Spokesperson at Nepal Army, Army Chief Thapa had self-quarantined himself abiding by the health safety related directives and standards set by the Ministry of Health and Population.

The cases of infection in the security forces like Nepal Army, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force seem hiking even after the relaxation of lockdown and the prohibitory orders.
