1,559 diagnosed COVID-19 positive, Nepal’s caseload reaches 77,817



KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of 1,559 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours.

As many as 1,057 infected ones fully recovered from the virus, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

With this, the tally of coronavirus infected has reached 77,817 in the country, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said in a daily press briefing this afternoon.

He shared that the country now has altogether 20,891 active cases of coronavirus disease.

Likewise, Dr. Gautam said that 10,084 individuals are in institutional isolation facilities while 10,804 individuals are in home isolation, and 5,428 people are in quarantine facilities across the country.

Of the active cases, 201 patients are receiving treatment in ICU and 30 are on ventilators.

It is said that 12,205 RT-PCR tests were carried out in various laboratories across the country in the past 24 hours.

According to Dr. Gautam, 20,891 have recovered so far.

Similarly, 7 people died of the virus in the past 24 hours. With the recent deaths, the number of coronavirus-caused fatalities has reached 498 in the country.
