Kathmandu Valley witnesses 429 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Valley has witnessed 429 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday proving itself as a corona hub in the country.

According to Prof. Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, the spokesperson at the Ministry of Health and Population, Kathmandu witnessed 372 cases, Bhaktapur 45 and Lalitpur 12.

The alarming increase of coronavirus case and the deaths caused by the pandemic has made people ponder on the measures taken by the government and the safety measures adopted at the community level as well.

The country which saw the lockdown after the first case has already witnessed 38,561 cases of coronavirus by Sunday.

The country witnessed 14 deaths today making the COVID-19 death toll 221.

Spokesperson Dr. Gautam revealed that 12,717 PCR tests were carried out in various labs throughout the country out of which 1,221 came out with coronavirus positive report.
