Four arrested with deer meat



KATHMANDU: Four people have been arrested with deer meat.

The joint patrol team of the Chitwan National Park and the Nepali Army arrested them from Rapti municipalit-6 on Saturday.

Those arrested are Paigi Chaudhary,35, Sajan Chaudhary,19, Sumitra Chaudhary,30 and a minor, according to chief conservation officer of the CNP Ananath Baral. The team confiscated 18 kgs of meat from the accused, along with the trap used to kill the deer.

The spotted deer was reportedly trapped and killed by the accused in the Ekata community forest. Further investigation is underway.

If found guilty, the accused will be sentenced to six months to one year in prison or a fine of 20,000 to 50,000 rupees or both.
