Man nabbed for duping youths of Rs 1.8 million



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man on the charge of duping people under the guise of sending them to the Czech Republic.

The law enforcement agency nabbed Ramesh Kamar, 26, of Nilkantha Municipality-12 in Dhading from Basundhara and paraded him during a press conference on Thursday.

According to the police, the preliminary investigation revealed that he had swindled Rs 1.8 million from 15 people by promising of sending them to the Czech Republic.

A complaint was lodged with Metropolitan Police Crime Division after Kamar went out of contact after receiving Rs 1.13 million from a youth.

A police investigation found that he had swindled many more youths.

Kamar has been handed over to Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu for further action.
