Beni-Jomsom road remains disrupted since past one month

KATHMANDU: It has been almost a month since Beni-Jomsom road was disrupted but the government has not bothered to repair it.

Beni-Jomsom road section along the Kaligandaki corridor was disrupted after a landslide occurred at Ghoptebhir on July 3.

District Administration Office has admitted its failure to repair the bridge.

On July 10, the situation turned even worse after a bailey bride was washed away at Galeshwor of Myagdi district.

“We were repairing the crumbled road at Ghoptebhir. The rain continued, triggering further landslides. The repair work has been hit,” said CDO Bed Prasad Aryal.

Even the air route to Jomsom has also been often disrupted by bad weather.
