Landslide displaces 25 families at Dhairing



PARBAT: As many as 25 households of Jaljala rural municipality-7, Dhairing have been displaced due to landslide. With the fear of landslide looming large, they were forced to abandon their own houses and shift to the secured place.

Among the displaced in Dhairing are Khadek family, Subas family, Gaumati family, Raju family and the families of Govinda Bahadur KC, Shishir KC, Tara KC, Yamnath Padhya and Deilsewa Padhya.

Landslide survivor Raju Pariyar shared they are taking shelter at neighbour’s house due to fear of landslide.

The landslide has demolished the house of Gore family in the same place (Dhairing), informed ward chair Tunga Nath Sharma. Due to the landslide occurred with the ongoing construction of Milanchowk-Salyan-Gundrekhet-Dharapani road section, the families of Om Narayan Acharya, Deukali, Balkrishna Sharma, Ram Prasad Sharma, Dilliram Sharma, Kamal Bahadur KC, Dinesh Nepali, Shreekrishna Acharya, Bharat Poudel, Man Bahadur Pariyar, Bhim Pariyar and Raju Pariyar have been displaced from their settlement.

Meanwhile, the landslide occurred in the area between Salyan and Kirakhor has disrupted road at Kelabari.

It has also caused damages to Elvin fruits farm at Kerlabari.
