CPN-UML being registered under PM’s direction: NCP Vice Chairman Gautam



KATHMANDU: Vice Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bamdev Gautam has said that the new party CPN-UML is about to be registered with the Election Commission with the direction of Prime Minister and party Chairman KP Oli.

Speaking at a meeting of the Standing Committee on Tuesday, he claimed that the new party was being registered under the prime minister’s instruction.

“I am convinced that the Prime Minister has instructed to register a new party with the Election Commission,” Gautam was quoted as saying by a standing committee member.

Speaking at the meeting, Gautam also demanded that PM Oli should resign from both the posts.

An application has been filed with the Election Commission for the registration of a party named CPN-UML.

The application has been filed at the time when the party with the name doesn’t exist after the unification between the then CPN-UML and the then CPN (Maoist Center).

According to the information received, Sandhya Tiwari of Jhapa has applied to the Election Commission for registration.
